What The Debt Ceiling and Enterprise Architecture Have In Common

The latest turmoil in the U.S. government -- the crisis over the debt ceiling -- led me to reflect on a blog I wrote a few months back, over at Smart Architect, entitled Good Enough For Government -- Or Is It?

The blog had nothing to do with the debt ceiling, or any of the other political issues that play out in the national debates that appear every day on our TV screens and Twitter feeds. Rather, iIt's about the federal enterprise architecture efforts that have been in play in recent years, and it came to mind because it, too, is a story of a massive struggle to get something done. In this case, a struggle that perhaps was made harder than it should have been by the forces of sweeping grandiostiy and needless complexity.

If you haven't had a chance to visit our Smart Architect site, I invite you to do so and take a look at this blog. We welcome your comments and feedback!
