How to Set Up and Manage Email Notifications
Background
You can set up email notifications so that any time new material is posted to the community in areas you're interested, a link is automatically emailed to you. You can control which email notifications you receive, and you can easily see at any time a complete list of all groups, people or main topics, that you are "subscribed" to or following.
Review Your Email Notifications List
- Go to your profile page by clicking on your name in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Click on the Email Notifications tab.
- Use the Filter dropdown menu to select the type of content you want to review, or simply scroll through the entire list.
- When you find an item you no longer want to be notified about, click in the box to the right of it.
- Before you leave the page, scroll to the bottom and click on Remove Selected Notifications.
Setting Your Email Notification Preferences
By default, you will be notified when any content you have created, edited or commented on is changed. This is a valuable feature, as it keeps you informed automatically and saves you from having to scan and search for updates to content you are interested in. Therefore, it's strongly recommended that you keep these notifications enabled.
However, you have control over your notification settings. If you wish, you may select to not be automatically notified in every situation. To change those settings, go to your profile page and click on Edit Preferences in the in the Actions box.
RSS Reader: An Alternative to Email Notifications
Just about everything in the community has an RSS feed, so you can keep up with changes and new content by using an RSS reader if you prefer.
