Finding things in the community is pretty easy, once you get used to it. This page contains guidelines and suggestions.
Search First
Searching in the community is easy and powerful. Simply start typing what you're searching for in the search box at the top right of any page. Pause and wait for the javascript list of suggestions to pop up. Look over the choices and click what you want in the list, or type more letters to improve the results. Click on what you want in the list.
You can also click on the magnifying glass icon to go to the full search page. There you can see more results and narrow down your search.
Browse the Tag Cloud
If search doesn't give you what you want, try the Tag Cloud. Go to Browse - Tags. Look through the list of tags (keywords) and select one that is likely to apply to what you are looking for. As soon as you click on it, the tag cloud will change to show only tags that have been applied in conjunction with the tag you selected. In other words, each time you select a tag, you filter everything in the wiki. A list appears below the tag cloud, showing all the items that have been tagged with the keyword(s) you selected.
Note that filters are additive, so each tag you select further narrows the list. In order to appear in the list of results, an item must be tagged with every single one of the tags you have selected to filter on.
Look in a Logical Place
Browse the categories and items in the Main Topics area. Remember, though, that browsing through spaces isn't the most efficient way to find things in the community. Searching and using the tag cloud may get you what you're looking for faster than browsing.
Ask a Question
If you have tried searching, tags and logical places, but still can't find what you seek, it's possible it does not exist in the community. Or it might not be tagged.Feel free to ask a question. If you're having trouble finding it, others may be, too.
Go to the topic area or group that seems most logical to you as the place where what you're seeking should be located. Start a new discussion there, asking for help. The people who frequent that place are the most likely ones to be able to help you, so hopefully they will see it and respond.
Look for a Person Who Could Help
Another way to get help is to seek out someone who is likely to know about whatever it is you are looking for. Go to Browse-People and use the filters in the right column there, plus the Search People box to try to find someone who you can reach out to directly ask for help. The site Editor and Community Manager or the Member Concierge are good places to start.
