We provide the Smart Enterprise Exchange web site and its communities (including any user-driven content such as blogs, discussions, comments, etc.), (i) as a service to its users to help exchange ideas, tips, information and techniques; and (ii) as a forum for discussion of appropriate industry-related topics. These Communities are here for the benefit of all authorized individuals and are accessible to all who qualify as a senior IT executive. Like any community, they are most valuable when everyone obeys basic guidelines and rules for online behavior. These guidelines and rules are presented here so that you know what is expected of you and what you can expect from other participants when using the Smart Enterprise Exchange and all of its assets. Relevance of Topics

For the benefit of all the members, please stay on topic. These communities are specifically provided to allow members to help each other and to serve as a forum for discussion of appropriate business / industry related topics. 

Appropriate Language

Members want to have a positive experience while on the communities, so please make sure that you are not detracting from another member’s experience. In particular, please refrain from posting anything that could be perceived as unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks and harassment in the communities are not acceptable.

Solicitation/Advertising

This community is provided to authorized individuals and is not intended for the promotion of third party services, products, web sites, or organizations. Please refrain from posting content that would constitute advertising, promotions, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation.

Keep it Legal

It is unacceptable to post any material that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party, that contains software viruses or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware, or that is deemed to be illegal by any local, state, federal, or international law, rule or regulation.

Be Careful

Members will be offering advice on the communities but remember that their advice represents their opinion only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. If the advice given by a member sounds wrong to you, do not try it. You should also not post personal information on these blog communities and wikis including your home address, age, or phone number. If any user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number do not provide it, and please notify the Smart Enterprise Exchange concierge at concierge@smartenterpriseexchange.com. Remember, some information will be public and accessible in your member profile should you choose to make such information public. If you do not wish to make your information public, a privacy option is available.

Community Super Users

All members are assigned a user status when they register for the Smart Enterprise Exchange web site. Members status begins as “newbie” and work up to “expert” as they blog and contribute online on a more regular basis. This designation does not create an employee or agency relationship between Smart Enterprise Exchange, UBM TechWeb, CA and this member, nor does it make this member a company spokesperson. Instead, the designation allows the blog and wiki community to know which members have been helpful, have provided constructive advice and have set a positive example and tone for the greater community. Like any information posted on the blogs and wikis, the opinions and advice provided by these members are their own. This content is the sole responsibility of that member, and anything we’ve said in these User Guidelines applies equally to the content posted by these members.
