Meet the Editors

Paula Klein

Paula is an experienced editorial director and multimedia journalist with a proven track record. She has particular specialization in executive-level and IT-related issues for print and online audiences. As executive editor of Optimize, Paula ran daily operations and identified topics of critical importance to business technology executives. She has also interviewed dozens of subject-matter experts and CIOs for a variety of publications, podcasts, panels and Web sites including InformationWeek. A seasoned journalist with a master's degree from American University in Washington, D.C., Paula held news and management positions at UBM and served as business editor at a daily newspaper. In addition, her background includes editorial roles launching weekly community newspapers, starting a literary magazine, and editing reports and newsletters at the Gartner Group.

 

Elliot Kass

As TechWeb's Managing Director for content services, Elliot is responsible for TechWeb's custom content development. He works with hundreds of clients across the high-tech spectrum to craft messages and deliver information for diverse audiences of technology and business professionals.

Elliot has been a leading force in high-tech journalism and marketing for more than 20 years. In the 1980's, he was a founding editor of InformationWeek and served as the publication's first Chief of Correspondents. Later, as the Editor of both Communications Week and then Internet Week, Elliot helped usher in the online era, winning numerous awards for the publications' ground-breaking coverage of networking technologies and e-Business.

Elliot has also held senior marketing positions at IBM and CA. A frequent public speaker on technology-related topics, in 1998, Elliot organized the first educational seminar on the Internet for the U.S. Congress. He has also spoken at the UN on the Internet's economic potential and has written articles for the Gartner Group and The Washington Post.

 

Peter Krass

Peter is a long-time technology journalist. In the late '80s, he was managing editor of BusinessWeek's Newsletter for Information Executives. During the early and mid-'90s, he was a senior writer and then features editor at InformationWeek magazine. In 1998, he became the founding editor of PlanetIT.com, a Web site for IT professionals. Three years later, he joined Inc. magazine as a senior editor. Currently he has been working as an editorial consultant. His clients have included Optimize magazine, CFO magazine, Accenture, CDW, VeriSign and TechBuilder.com.
